The organisation received a $4 million Government investment in 2010 and began the construction of the site last year.

Minister for Aged Care and Senior Australians, Richard Colbeck, officially opened the new facility on 12 March.

Director and owner of Beaumont Care, Linda Beaumont, says there is such a huge demand for aged care facilities in regional areas, adding that Wamuran was earmarked as a priority future growth area by the Moreton Bay Regional Council and required aged care infrastructure.

“There is a real need for aged care facilities in rural and remote parts of Australia, and the Moreton Bay region is no exception,” said Mrs Beaumont.

“In the wake of the Aged Care Royal Commission, many aged care facilities in our regions are doing it tough.

“At a time when aged care as an industry is struggling, Beaumont Care, with support from the Australian Government, is making a conscious and important decision to invest in much needed aged care in regional areas like Wamuran.”

Minister Colbeck says this new development will offer support to the Wamuran community in the years to come and that the opening of the facility is very timely.

The Beaumont Care facility in Wamuran will have a contemporary, country style home with four 20 bed communities, each with their own lounge rooms, dining areas and courtyards.

One of the four residences will have a secure memory care facility equipped for people living with dementia.
